The World's Commodity Exchanges

International trading has been one of the most exciting things to see in the world. That's because everywhere the world there are things of interest to check out. There are all sorts of commodity exchanges around the world. These are places where various different commodities are traded around the world.

Chicago is one of the world's most popular cities for international trading in the commodity market. The Chicago Board of Trade is considered to be one of the most influential commodity exchanges in the world. Agricultural products are among the most popular products traded at the CBOT, and wheat, corn, soybeans and oats are among the products there. Gold and silver are also traded at the CBOT. Ethanol has been traded in recent years at this market too. Another exchange in the city, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, is especially influential. Livestock futures are traded at this market.

New York also has some notable exchanges for international trading. The New York Board of Trade features agricultural products like cocoa, coffee and cotton. The New York Mercantile Exchange features energy product futures for trading, including natural gas, crude, propane and uranium.

The London Metal Exchange is another of the top exchanges in the world. Various valuable metals that are used for industrial purposes are available for trading here. These include zinc, aluminum, copper and lead. In recent times steel has become a commodity to trade here as well.

Euronext, which is a Paris based exchange, is influential in the agriculture trading scene. However, the most notable thing about this exchange is that of the great level of accessibility it has throughout Europe. There are various Euronext branches throughout the continent where people can trade agricultural products. These areas include Amsterdam and Brussels. Also, Euronext has partnerships with the New York Stock Exchange and the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

In Asia Bursa Malaysia, which is based in Kuala Lumpur, is also popular for international trading. Palm oil is one of the notable things to see here. Gas products are also traded in the futures market here.

There are all sorts of different exchanges throughout the world as well. Some of these exchanges specifically work with certain types of commodities. In Dubai the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange works specifically with precious metals. Specific agricultural products are available in certain areas, including the Minneapolis Grain Exchange and Memphis Cotton Exchange.

Various different major cities also have commodity exchanges. These are generally smaller than others but they give people access to the commodities in international trading. These cities include Tokyo, Sydney, Karachi and Winnipeg.

Commodity exchanges are located throughout the world, and there are various different exchanges that work with certain types of futures products. While many of the most popular exchanges are in Chicago, there are ones throughout the world to check out for futures trading.
